There will always be conflict

When I say "Conflict" I mean every conflict...but if I had to narrow down the field (cause you only have a minute to read), then I really mean Internal Conflict.  I mean restlessness, indecision, guilt, wrestling with an idea, struggling with doubt, frustrations with self - all of that.
Christians really believe that it's possible one day to have zero internal conflicts. As if a non-conflicted mind is a sign of spiritual maturity.
Is that realistic? NO! In reality, the more you grow the more you are conflicted. The attainable peace, joy, and freedom from anxiety that God offers is NOT from the absence of Internal Conflict....But in spite of Internal Conflict.
"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do" (Rom 7:15). Paul sounds very conflicted. Here's the fact: as you grow, you are confronted by what is…and what should be. In fact the scary thing is when there is no conflict, because that means you stopped caring.
So don't be discouraged. Look at it as Jacob after he wrestled with God. He walked with a limp from then on. This is your glorious limp. This is part of our Christian walk.

  1. Thank you for your comments on "conflict" Just being Christian parents brings conflict...wait, just being a married couple brings conflict whether as a husband or a wife,...wait just being a man or a woman brings conflict...wait just being human brings conflict. Jesus said, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

I choose to draw near to the One who knows how to overcome the conflict each day. God bless you for your service.
